These instructions are for
"fixing" the problem where after installing Internet Explorer 8, the Pro
viewer no longer launches from the web site, instead producing an error
stating that .NET security is not set up on your computer. These
instructions can also fix some other instances where you will see the same
behavior, so it's worth trying if you've tried everything else. |
|
First, look for the small, light blue box in the far lower left corner of a list of plans. See image to the right for a screenshot of what to look for. If this box is not light blue, but rather is white, then continue on for the steps to fix.
First, make sure your browser is currently logged into the construction
reports for the planroom you're having problems with. Being on a plans
list page as shown in the screet shot to the right is ideal. In Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options, as shown. |
|
Select the Trusted Sites Zone (#1 on the image to the right) and then click on the Sites button (#2 on the image to the right).
Add the site to the list of trusted sites. The checkbox indicated at #1 on the image to the right must NOT be checked. Verify that our web site is listed in the top textbox (this will be whatever site you are on when you do this, so it may be bxohio.com, bxcleve.com, private-planroom.com or another site if you're using the viewer with another planroom) and click on the Add button at #2. Then click on the Close button.
Now make sure that the trusted sites zone is set to the default security level. The security level is shown at #1 in the image to the right. If it reads anything other than Medium, click on the Default Level button at #2. #1 should then show as Medium. Click on the OK button at the bottom.
Now close ALL Internet Explorer windows, then open a new one and try again. Not only should you see the light blue square shown above in the first screenshot, but you should be able to launch the Pro viewer again. |
